The combination of recession, high inflation, a weakening domestic currency, and political and regulatory uncertainty has severely hit Argentina’s economy in recent years. Despite the federal government successfully closing a restructuring of its defaulted foreign debt last September, country risk figures have increased, capital controls have been tightened, and Central Bank reserves have continued to fall.
